LEGENDS News

Well I missed the update from last weekends games so here is a brief summary of what happened.

WE WON!

At this point the LEGENDS had a two ame winning streak going for them.

Now, for a more recent update.  Today's games vs. Beatrice played in Hickman at 9 and 11 am.  BOY WAS IT CHILLY TODAY!

In the first game the LEGENDS got the bats going quickly and continued to hit ball the remainder of the game.  Jackson to another hit for the team, this time in the knee.  He said he didn't feel anything this time.  :)

LEGENDS won game 1 16-4 in 4 innings.  Jackson got hit by a pitch and had 2 walks, 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases.

Game 2 was 100% a different story.  We didn't get the bats going until the very last inning.  We were down 10-3 going into our final at bat.  We got some guys on base, thru walks and hits, and finished the game just 2 runs behind.

Final score 10-8 Beatrice.  Jackson had a strikeout, a walk and one stolen base.

The LEGENDS next game is scheduled for Sunday May 22nd in Hickman at 1:00 and 3:00.  Hope to see you there!

Takin' 1 for the Team

An exciting game yesterday at Optimist field versus the Lincoln Synergy. A game packed with double plays, Home runs, excellent pitching and past balls. Oh and don't let me forget elbow crushing blows.

At Jackson's first at bat of the night, first pitch...POW!!! Right in the elbow! Needless to say the #1 rule in baseball was broken, No crying in baseball. After walking to his base and getting pinch-runner Jackson came back into the dugout to find himself with a baseball sized bruise on his elbow. That didn't stop him from playing though, he was back out there on defense ready to make some outs.

The LEGENDS looked a lot better this time than the first time they played Synergy. The score was 7-3 Synergy going into the last inning were Synergy scored 5 to finish the game 12-3, but that's not the point. We produced 2 double plays in the night and looked really good on the mound and behind the plate.

The boys are coming together and really starting to play well.

Tomorrow we take our "A" game to the metropolis of Council Bluffs to verse the River City Owls in a midday double header.

I'm JC,
Keep it classy Lincoln!

This week in Jackson's Sports

After a weekend of upsets the Legends head into the weekend with a single game vs the Lincoln Synergy on Thursday at Optimist Club baseball fields (near Wright Park) at 6pm. This weekend the hit the road for a double header in Council Bluffs vs The River City Owls. Game times are 1:30 and 3:30.

The Sunday double header vs Omaha West will be rescheduled. They apparently didn't realize it was Mothers Day when it was scheduled. That was their excuse anyways, I believe that they heard that the Legends were improving and they didn't want to get beat.

Take care all.

Maddox Gage Carter

Well...
Today was the day...Maddox blessed us.  He was born at Bryan East Hospital at 12:39 pm at a whopping 8 lbs 5oz and 21" in length.  He is a very beautiful boy with lots of hair and great color to his skin.

Today he was very calm and stayed awake for a few hours just soaking everything in.

It's so amazing watching the birth of a child...everything you've been waiting for 9 months is finally there and when they look you in the eyes while you hold them.  What are you thinking about little man?

Now just a couple more days at the hospital and he will be coming home.  Not sure how the dog will take it.
